FWD Progress 10-21-2009

Sudoku for PSP minisI didn’t manage to get my daily post up yesterday because I was busy putting together reviews of Tetris for PSP minis and Rock Band for iPhone/iPod Touch and that is a problem I hope to have more often in the coming weeks leading up to the holiday season.

Next on tap for me is a write-up of Mario & Sonic at the Olympic Winter Games. Then Wii Fit Plus, Brutal Legend and hopefully at least one or two of the Xbox LIVE Arcade, WiiWare, DSiWare and PSN games I’ve been playing over the last few weeks. I’m editing a review of Sudoku for PSP minis that Nathalie did for me and I’m getting her started on another iPhone/iPod Touch educational games feature in addition to a bigger feature she’s putting together. I’m installing the new core and template I’ll be using for my planned overhaul of Game Forward today. Hopefully I can get the database transitioned without losing my hit counts and comments this time and I’d like to avoid the full rebuild I went through last time around, though because of a large format switch it may be unavoidable.

After I install the beta site and start up my Mario & Sonic at the Olympic Winter Games review outline I plan on playing (and enjoying) some games today in addition to setting up a rad 1980s keyboard we recently obtained from Nat’s mom.

[11:20 AM] I’ve had a rough morning so far that has been punctuated by some chest and arm pain that was so bad it incited a panic attack. As usual, there’s nothing wrong with my heart - my blood pressure and heart rate are good today - and the pain is most likely from a pinch in my back. Stands to reason, I was sitting at this desk for a good six or seven hours yesterday, but it still gets scary sometimes.

I don’t think I’ll have a chance to get to the rental store today after all. I was going to try and rent Borderlands and WWE Smackdown Vs. Raw 2010, both of which I’d like to check out but have no plans to write about or anything.

I doubt I’ll get much work done on the beta either, my left arm is simply too sore to keep working on a PC. Hopefully I can focus enough to get a couple hours of Brutal Legend done. That game already feels like a chore and I’m only three or four hours in.
